Even Wondered Why You Can’t Achieve The Results You First Set Out To Achieve…?
Look back on your track record. Are you consistent? Are you consistently showing up at least 3 times a week to train? Are you consistently eating well? Are you consistently drinking enough water? Are you consistently sleeping 7-8 hours?
There seems to be a common word used in the previous paragraph.. CONSISTENCY.
Consistency is KEY to everything. Not just health and fitness but your career, your relationships, your business, your financials. EVERYTHING!!
Ever set out on a new fitness venture. You get excited, you hammer yourself for the first week and the next week you can barely walk, everything is hurting and the excitement becomes dull. What happened? You did too much too soon. When starting out you need to progressively load muscle tissues and joints.
With progressively doing that also comes with consistently doing that. For example, slowly ramping it up 3 times a week over 3 months. This will yield more sustainable results then training 6 days here, 1 day here, 3 days here and then taking 2 weeks off because you’re too ‘sore’.
Yes, there are athletes that train 5-6 times per week with heavy loads and high intensity BUT those athletes have gone through progressive loading and have consistently trained 3-5 times per week for YEARS.
There are a couple of things that will keep you in check when doing this.
First one is keep your EGO in check. Understand this will take time, have the discipline to hold back and not do too much too soon,
Second one is LISTEN. Listen to your body, it will be your best source of feedback, if something isn’t feeling right then listen to those signs and dial it back.
Third one is LEARN: Learn off someone who has walked the path before you. They will educate you on what works and what doesn’t. More than likely they have made all the mistakes and have forged the path to creating something that WORKS. Listen to them, lean in and learn as much as you can. Don’t just wing it and hope for the best, that’s like taking off in a plane without a GPS and flying blindly, good luck with that.
Now we harped on A LOT about training consistently, loading muscle tissues and joints etc etc.
What about food, water and sleep. SAME THING!
You can’t eat well for a week, not see any results and say fuck this it doesn’t work, it does work you just need to stick it out consistently.
You can’t just drink 2 litres of water one day, drink 200ml the next and wonder why you’re dehydrated. You can’t sleep 8 hours one night and feel awesome the night day then 2 hours the next and wonder why you feel like dog shit the next morning.
The best results we have seen are the ones who show up at least 3 times a week , listen, learn and put that into practice, drink enough water, eat well and sleep enough. And they do this consistently.
Are you lacking in any of those areas? Then get some CONSISTENCY in your life.
