Gaining Momentum in 2024 after the Holiday Slump!

Getting back into the swing of things for the New Year can be tough, believe me!

I’ve essentially had 4 weeks off with an overseas holiday and then Christmas and I am feeling the worst I’ve felt in years! Lack of exercise, shitty food, more alcohol than water, and terrible sleep habits. Hopefully, I can share something valuable with you based on my experience

2 days of drinking, no exercise, and poor food choices can easily turn into 2 weeks. You look back on the last couple of weeks, drinking, eating too much food, not moving and you almost feel like you’re stuck in a hole.

And it feels like a deep hole! Here’s my strategy to get out of the hole. Focus on winning the day! Move for that day, eat well for that day, drink your water for that day, and get a good sleep.

At the end of that day, give yourself a massive ✅ to signify winning the day – which in turn will boost your confidence.

Repeat that every day until that becomes the norm again. Then you will look back on those 2 weeks and that hole feels like a distant memory. The holiday fluff will start to drop away, the grogginess will start to clear, the positive self-talk will start the creep back in and the energy levels will start to soar.

Avoid THIS at all costs – Do not look at the weeks and months ahead of what you need to achieve. Have them as milestones and break them down into what you need to do every single day.

For example – Let’s say you want to lose 5kg in the next 8 weeks. You will need to eat X amount of calories a day, move the body, get 7-8 hours of sleep, drink 3 liters of water, and practice some sort of mindfulness to reduce stress. Chunk it down to daily actions that make up your goal.

It’s that simple!
